In a copy edit, the nuts and nutrients of your manuscript—spelling, grammar, consistency, and word choice—are examined, adjusted, and improved. Facts and details are checked for internal consistency and external integrity. Formatting is inspected and corrected to ensure a smooth transition from work-in-progress to finished piece. For an additional charge and upon request, substantive comments on argument, flow, and pacing can be provided.

What You Get: A fully edited manuscript in Microsoft Word Track Changes, including in-line comments. A style guide detailing editorial decisions based on Chicago Manual of Style or your preferred style guide.

Offered at two levels based on your manuscript’s needs: basic and heavy.
